Parish Leadership
Stewardship
Stewardship is about being grateful, responsible stewards of the gifts we receive from God. At St. Peter’s, stewardship is more than simply contributing money to the church; it’s also about contributing time and talents, and volunteering for ministry and mission. For more information about stewardship at St. Peter’s call the rectory or contact Stewardship Chair: stewardship@stpetersspotswood.org
Formation
Christian formation is the lifelong process of growing in our relationship with God, self, others, and all creation.
Sunday School: St. Peter’s is a vibrant parish of young families. Our Sunday School reflects our dynamic diversity and commitment to our youngest members. For more information call the rectory or contact Sunday School administrator Christina Maffa-Johnson at sundayschool@stpetersspotswood.org
Adult and Young Adult Formation: Father Marshall reminds us that formation is a lifelong process and challenge. For more information regarding programming aimed at adults of all ages, contact Father Marshall at rector@stpetersspotswood.org
Rector’s Forums are held on the Third Sunday of each month, September through May.
Bible Study: Grasping the understanding of God through his word is the purpose of Bible study and the goal of St. Peter’s Bible Challenge. For more information about how to begin your journey with the bible, contact Fr. Marshall at rector@stpetersspotswood.org
Fr. Marshall introduces our Fall Series: the Seven Sacraments.
The Church’s seven sacraments are outward and visible signs of inward and spiritual grace. How does each of the sacraments intersect with our individual and communal lives? Baptism and Eucharist are given to us by Christ as signs of initiation and continuity in His Body. The five evolutionary sacraments we have developed over time as the Church, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, give our ministrations and ministries form and function. Check out this introduction, and join us for the Fall Series!
Five Weeks, Seven Sacraments
A Sacrament of the Church is an outward and visible sign of an inward and spiritual grace. Follow along and join in our faithful walk in the embrace of the grace of Christ’s ministry to our community of faith!
Spiritual Support
Peace, understanding, a place to listen and a place to be heard… this is how we care for one another. Spiritual support is the basis of Women’s and Men’s gatherings, monthly We meet at a local diner for food, fellowship and prayer. For more information regarding the Women’s Breakfast, contact Maureen Barlow at womensbreakfast@stpetersspotswood.org and for the Men’s Breakfast, contact Craig Kafafian at mensbreakfast@stpetersspotswood.org.
Worship
Coming together in observance and adoration takes many hands, including those beside Father Marshall during service, our lectors sharing the word and those who have prepared the altar and cared for the vessels and linens that adorn it. For more information on how you can take part in this ministry, contact Father Marshall at rector@stpetersspotswood.org. Ushers, our frontline ambassadors of protocol, also play a critical role in our worship service. For more information about how you can serve as an usher, contact John Hamilton at ushers@stpetersspotswood.org.
