Opportunities to participate at St. Peter's.....

Worship Ministries

Acolytes
Assist the clergy in the sanctuary to ensure that all worship services are celebrated smoothly. Children and adults are specifically trained for this ministry. Contact: Keith Gabbett.

Altar Guild
A "behind the scenes" group of dedicated people, carefully preparing the church for all worship services. They pick up the flowers, clean, polish, change altar linens and dossals according to the church season or service type, order wine and hosts for the Eucharist and ensure that all is in readiness for the clergy. Contact: Barbara Tonkin.

Adult Choir
The adult choir is open to those who would like to sing at the 10:00 am service on Sunday mornings, leading the congregation in liturgy and song. Rehearsals take place after the 8:00 am service ends on Sunday mornings in the church. The Sunday morning rehearsal was introduced in an effort to “recruit” adults that would like to participate in choir, but cannot make a weeknight rehearsal due to scheduling and family concerns. Contact Arlene Miller.

Children’s Choir
The children’s choir meets in the church immediately following the 10:00 am Sunday service. The choir continues to grow and show confidence in their musical abilities. Contact Arlene Miller

Chimes
This choir was formed at Lent in 2008 in an effort to include folks that wanted to participate in a music ministry. Rehearsals are Monday at 7:30 p.m. Contact Arlene Miller

Lay Eucharistic Ministers/Visitors
LEM’s assist at the altar by administering the chalice during communion and LEV's by bringing the sacraments to the homebound. They are trained by our clergy and licensed by the diocese. Contact: Fr. Reans.

Lectors
Lay members read the lessons, proclaiming the Word of God at every service during the year. Readings are mailed or e-mailed weekly to those scheduled to read for the upcoming Sunday. Contact: Don Tonkin.

Ushers
Ushers are the first to greet the congregation upon entering the church for worship services, handing out bulletins, finding seats when necessary, taking the count of worshipers, collecting the gifts, assisting in a smooth flow up to the communion rail and straightening up the church after the service is over. Contact: John Hamilton.
